our story

Since 1996, Nor Cal Growers has been an organic playground for sustainability, creativity and the best plant material around. The owner, Vince Scholten, comes from a long line of growers and continues on their tradition of innovation and excellence.

From bamboo to bonsai, Nor Cal hosts a diverse and ever-changing selection of plants. Currently, the property is focused on nursery production for perennials, annuals, tropicals, and vegetable starts.

Experience including working in Dutch greenhouses, higher education in horticulture, and a lifetime of hands-on learning has lead Nor Cal to continually improve. Starting out as “Grateful Growers” selling cut flowers in Sebastopol before expanding into greenhouse production with 55 varieties of bananas. Over the 20+ years the property has been home to annuals, potatoes, herbs, perennials, corn, pumpkins, as well as chickens, cattle, sheep, pigs, worms and the occasional goat.

“From start to finish, working with Vince and Nor Cal was exactly what you hope for. He knew just what we needed and delivered an exquiste product.”
